From the Producing Artistic Director

Joseph Ritsch HeadshotLast year, Rep Stage celebrated its silver anniversary, celebrating 25 years of award winning, professional theatre in residence at Howard Community College. We now embark on our journey into the next 25 with our commitment to artistic excellence and serving the students, faculty and staff at Howard Community College, as well as the greater Howard County community.

Rep Stage is a member of Theatre Washington, Theatre Communications Group, and The National New Play Network. As the only professional Equity theatre in Howard County, Rep Stage bridges the artistic gap between Baltimore and DC and welcomes audiences from throughout the region.

Rep Stage also has the distinction of being the only professional theatre housed on a community college campus. Because of this, Rep Stage can actively engage with HCC students in its daily operations, giving them opportunities to work both onstage and off. A series of audience guides have been developed and are used as teaching tools in the classroom for faculty who include our productions in their curriculum. Post-show discussions and pre-show lectures engage the community in conversations about the work and the themes they present.

Performances are made possible by Howard Community College, Howard County Arts Council through a grant from Howard County Government, Maryland State Arts Council as well as through generous individual contributions. Rep Stage operates as a not-for-profit theatre under the auspices of the Howard Community College Educational Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3).

Your support for the work we do at Rep Stage is very important to us. I thank you for considering investing in our vision and mission for a theatre where everyone is welcome, where we can all see ourselves in the stories we tell, and most important, where empathy is key. I hope you will come celebrate with us.

See You at REPartee!
